More of the Same

On my design wall today, more of the scrappy broken-dishes blocks.

I've left the red scraps behind for the moment and am now working on making more green blocks.

Working on more Green blocks

I realized last night that I probably pulled out this old project and decided to make more blocks as an alternative to jumping on the bandwagon and joining Bonnie Hunter's latest mystery.

Pulling out these old blocks and playing with them on my design wall has motivated me to make another pass through my scrap bins and see how many more blocks I can make.

I like the variety of the rainbow. The reds were pretty intense on their own.

that's so pretty -- great job. I'm always looking for a use for my scraps and this could be a great one

You did those all this weekend? Busy busy! I did one Bonnie Hunter mystery, and I think it cured me for all time of wanting to do quilts with many little pieces. Instead this weekend I did big 18 inch blocks for a quilt to be gifted to a camp for kids who have suffered a bereavement. That's one of the many charity efforts of my guild. Have a good week Sophie.

I love your scrappy quilt! What a great rainbow design and how fun that the blocks are coming from your scrap bin. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

They may be the same block, but oh the difference adding those rainbow colors make! I am not doing BH's mystery either; too much cutting for me, tho' it is looking mighty interesting so far...hugs, Julierose

I love broken dishes and the secondary patterns a quilt with those blocks makes. I started making some of those blocks for RSC to continue into RSC 2014. I love rainbow quilts. Who wouldn't love snuggling up in a rainbow?

Sophie, this is just GORGEOUS! How can a scrap-busting quilt look so deliberate and planned? You are like those kitchen magicians who can just rummage around in the pantry and create a gourmet dinner from whatever they find, aren't you? ;-)
